“Learning about my brain is helping me connect what I hear and see from the outside [triggers] to help me know what I feel and think on the inside. Then I can find my better thinking and reacting so much quicker than I ever could have imagined. I didn’t realize I could heal my brain.”

-  M, 17 year old girl after first session, processing crippling anxiety

“Karen helped our son understand how his brain was working, which he really likes, and that is helping him cope with the past and face a very bright future. I am grateful to have her part of our son’s recovery team. And she taught me how my fight to not accept the situation was stopping me from accessing my best wisdom in our situation.”

- Kathie A., mother of a 20 year old son

“Looking at how the hippocampus replays memories, and sends my amygdala into alert status, I learned that my memory really expects I am going to be screwed. Karen is helping me learn to notice where that shows up as tension, and how to look at the truth of the situation without alert. It is helping me to not feel so depressed and pessimistic.”

Zach, 23 year old finding his brain again after heroin

“Thanks for investing in me and sharing your wisdom work week after week!  I can’t express how grateful I am for the life tools you continue to share with me.”

H, 20 year old learning to think through panic attacks with weekly Skype sessions

Karen Dawn Wood is my brain soul mate. I’ve never met someone with such authenticity and both her guidance/counsel and book is just that. Like honey straight off the comb, she delivers both raw and sweet prayers of hope. I have worked with her for the past 4 years (I’m 26 now) and I can say without a moments pause that she saved my life with her knowledge and direction in my journey of healing with a TBI. This book is a gem to so many people.
